Brianna + Adrian I Indiana Engagement I Indianapolis, Indiana I Trafalgar, IN I Spring Engagement

There’s a reason Newfields is one of my favorite spots as an Indianapolis engagement photographer. With 152 acres of manicured gardens, iconic architecture like the Lilly House, and hidden paths, it feels like stepping into a cinematic movie set. Last week, I had the pleasure of exploring these grounds with Brianna and Adrian for their engagement session, and the results were purely magical.
We began our session near the Lilly House, where the classic architecture provided a sophisticated backdrop for Brianna and Adrian’s formal attire. From there, we wandered down to the Garden Terrace and the Orchard. One of my favorite moments was capturing them on the bridge near the greenhouse—the soft, filtered light there is unmatched for creating that ‘dreamy’ look.

If you’re planning your own Newfields engagement session, here are a few pro tips:

For the best variety in your gallery, I recommend bringing two outfits: one formal look for the architecture of the Lilly House and a more relaxed, garden-party style for wandering through the Tanner Orchard. Since we’ll be doing a fair amount of walking to get to those hidden gem spots, I always suggest bringing a pair of comfortable flats to swap into between shots! Finally, aim for a “Golden Hour” session—the way the sun dips behind the trees near the greenhouse creates a dreamy, hazy glow that is an Indianapolis photographer’s dream.

I am so excited for Brianna and Adrian’s wedding at Willow Acres later this year! If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your love story at Newfields or elsewhere in Indy, I’d love to chat. Inquire About Your Session Today.
